When and where did it all begin?
From memory it was about 1963 on a trip to stay with my grandparents in London. I found an old camera that belonged to my Dad’s late Sister and with a bit of persuasion my Dad brought a film for it. A trip down the Thames and plane spotting at London airport as it was then called got me interested in photography although the pictures were rather rubbish.

Although the interest was there it was never too serious until my eldest son was born and I wanted to be able to record his early years better and so I purchased my first SLR an old second hand Praktica with a 50mm lens. Then in about 1980-81 I joined my first camera club where I worked and the Praktica was soon traded in for a Fuji SLR soon followed by a Canon AE1. In late 2000 I joined Towcester Camera Club (now TDPS) and soon after moved over to digital using various models of Canon cameras.
