I was given my first camera, a Polaroid Instamatic, as a shared 18th birthday present from my friend’s mum. As I was an “engineer “ it was deemed that I would be the guardian of this high tech gadget. Plus I had the ability to take a picture without cutting peoples’ heads off. The camera was big and clumsy and the cartridge cost a pretty penny but it did whet my appetite for photography.

I bought my first proper camera, a Praktica, which got stolen and with the insurance money I purchased a Canon and have stayed with them ever since.

My preference is shooting landscapes, flowers and trees while desperately trying to avoid having people in my pictures.
