Like most people I developed an interest in photography during my teen years when I had a variety of point and shoot cameras. Most of what I learnt before I joined Towcester and District Photographic Society was from books and magazines. In my twenties I had my first serious camera, a Cosina CSM SLR. From here I progressed to Canon owning 1000f and two EOS 100’s.

I spent 30 years working shifts as a Policeman locally which made it difficult to commit my limited time to attend any clubs etc. on a regular basis. During my time with Northants Police I spent a lot of my time drinking tea at Brackley Photographic, a shop in Brackley. Bill the owner would critique my photos that I showed him and after a while I was taking Wedding Photos and event photos for the business.

My first digital camera was a point a shoot Fuji and when Canon produced the first affordable DSLR the 300D I converted to digital SLR’s.
