Thank you all for submitting your photos on the theme of Movement to Band, which we enjoyed reviewing during our meeting on the 30th June. The theme inspired a wide range of interpretations and varied subject matter.
This month’s fabulous Feature Image was taken by Steve Garratt.
“I think this image was taken at Rutland water when I was using micro four thirds with a long zoom lens.
I did a series of these as a bit of an experiment. Shutter speeds varied, but this one was about 3 seconds so a bit of camera movement in there also. I wanted to see what happened and also to try and portray the chaos of the small boats moving around so close to each other without clashing.
Other shots ranged in speeds from 1/4 second or so and some were more backlit and looked even more abstract, but I liked the end results and made a small book of the best photos, although this one seems to be the most popular”.
